EVENTS & ACTIVITIES


1. Interactive Club week 3

The interact club week was held from 4th Nov to 9th Nov…. The main aim of this week is to raise awareness on topics related to teens and also to raise funds for the orphanage…. The topics taken were based on suicide prevention, depression, social media addiction, peer pressure and substance abuse… on Wednesday the club organised a general assembly emphasizing on the topic suicide prevention and the members of the interact club enacted the importance of life and how precious it is…. The entire week the club members organised inter-class competition which was enthusitically participated by a number of students.. In order to raise fund for the orphanage the club requested the classes to collect old newspapers and old books and also to make a class wise contribution. It was such a joy to see soooo many students contributing generously.

2. Seminar on social & behavioral etiquette

The interact club of SJIHS conducted an event to spread awareness about social and behavioral ettiquites through a talk by Rtn Adiba Kazi.... The event was conducted on 19th of sept for the girls 20th for the 10th std boys and on 25th for the 8th and 9th boys exclusively.... The event was a grand success as students reciprocated well.... The speaker empahized on growing issues with teenagers and how to deal with the changing hormones... She also educated them about how to behave and respond with the other gender in the school while maintaining equality with sensitivity... The students posed several questions which were delicately answered by the speaker... The speaker Rtn Adiba Kazi was kind enough to listen to the problems of the students and empathetically solved the problems for the students...

3. Interact club-investiture

The efficient board members of the interact club were installed and badged on August 3rd 2024 by the parent rotary club Bangalore orchards. The event was graced by the President of the Rotary club Bangalore orchards Rtn Javed Khatib and team... This team consists of dedicated and hard working students who have joined the team in making a diffrence in the world by their contribution and collective effort. The team has also come forward with an annual plan and the theme selected for the year is "Youth Empowerment". We the club along with our enthusiastic board members look forward in serving the society in a much meaningful way.

4. Planner Idea Symposium

The Rotary Orchards 3191 along with the interact club of St Joseph’s Indian High School organised an event called “Planet Voices Symposium” on 16th Nov 2024. The key insights shared in the symposium were
1) The science behind climate change.
2) How to make a positive impact in our community.
3) Real-world case studies of stories from Karnataka.
4) Practical ways to live more eco-friendly lifestyle
It was a very informatuve session which was conducted for the whole day and around 20 schools with more than 700 students participated in this event. From our school we had 30 enthusiastic interactors participating, who derived enormous knowledge from various resource persons.

5. Planner Idea Symposium

The interact club along with eco club had a combined assembly where the board members of the club were introduced to the school and the theme of clean environment with youth empowerment was introduced to the students in the form of a small skit which was well performed by both the members of the eco club and interact club

6. Interact Club Orphanage visit

The interact club members along with the Principal, vice principal, teachers and PTA members of our school visited an AIDS infected and affected home called "Calvery Homes" in Kanakapura road on 14th of Dec 2024. The orphanage houses 122 orphan children. All the contributions made by the students of our school during the interact club week was utilized to cater to the needs of the children in the orphanage. The students spent valuable time with the kids. We had fun games, action songs and had a very fruitful interaction with the kids there.. This visit helped the students to realise the value of life and all the resources that are available for them which they rarely value... It also taught them the joy of giving and sharing with the downtrodden... The orphanage heads were so grateful for all the gifts and specially the time we spent with them...
