The 120th Annual Athletic Meet of St. Joseph’s Indian High School took place on 30th October 2024, filling the campus with energy and competitive spirit. A few events were conducted earlier to allow broader student participation.
The event opened with alumnus Mr. Suresh S. Siddi from the 1994 batch, an international swimmer and Karnataka Police officer, as chief guest. Addressing a gathering of students, parents, alumni, and PTA members, he emphasized the value of sportsmanship, awarded early-event winners, and even rewarded a student for answering his quiz correctly. Rector Rev. Fr. Joseph D’Souza SJ also encouraged the students to approach sports with passion and dedication.
The celebration concluded with a vibrant display, "Journey Through Time," presented by Classes 8 and 9, honouring the meet's 120-year legacy. Mr. A. Dennis Christopher, alumnus and national football player, awarded the overall champions, while Mr. Joshua, a distinguished alumnus and benefactor, presented awards for parent, staff, and inter-Jesuit school events. The event concluded solemnly with the lowering of the school flag and Beating the Retreat led by the captains.
