National Sports Day, celebrated on August 29th in honor of Major Dhyan Chand, a legendary figure in Indian hockey, holds great significance in India. Major Dhyan Chand's remarkable achievements, including three consecutive Olympic gold medals, make this day a tribute to his sporting excellence. This day is not just about celebrating a sporting legend but also about promoting the importance of physical fitness and a healthy lifestyle. At our school, we marked the occasion with a grand assembly where sports enthusiasts, dressed in their athletic attire, took an oath to uphold the spirit of sportsmanship. The principal inaugurated the 'Kreeda Utsav,' our intramural sports festival, and highlighted the vital role of sports in character development. National Sports Day serves as a reminder to embrace an active and healthy life, fostering the spirit of fair play and sportsmanship.
