SCHOOL LIBRARY

  1. The High School Library has approximately 10,000 volumes in the Reference and Circulation sections and has a spacious reading room which is supplied with newspapers and periodicals. The Middle school has a separate library.
  2. The School Library is accessible to the members of the staff and the students of the school.
  3. The school library is open on working days from 7:50 to 8:25 am and 12:30 to1:10 pm in the afternoon and from 2:45 to 3:15 pm in the evening.

Circulation Section

  1. Books in the circulation section will be issued by the librarian during the lunch interval and after school in the evening.
  2. Books issued from the library may not be kept for more than 7 days at a time. Defaulters in this respect are liable to pay a fine of Rs 2/- every day of delay.
  3. Books issued from the library may not be lent to others.
  4. A book, lost or damaged has to be paid for, by the one whom it was issued

Reference Section
Reference books are arranged subject wise. Students can refer these books in the morning from 7:50 to 8:25 am and in the afternoon from 12:30 to 1:10 pm. The library volunteers would help the students in getting the reference books from the cupboard after making an entry with the Librarian.

COLLEGE LIBRARY

  1. The library will be kept open from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm on all working days in term time; and on holidays (Sunday excepted) from 8:30 am to 1:00pm
  2. Application for books should be made in the prescribed borrowers call slip to be had from the College Co-operative Stores.
  3. Books of two categories are given for home reading viz. general Books and reference book. General books are those belonging to the following sections; Poetry, Prose, Biography and Fiction. All others are reference books.
  4. General books will be issued as follows
    (a) For I PUC classes on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.
    (b) For II PUC on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. An application should be submitted before the first period and books will be issued at the end of the morning session. They are to be returned promptly within two seeks. A fine of rupees two will be imposed promptly for every additional day’s delay thereafter. Students will be required to produce their identification card when books and other reading materials are issued to them
  5. Reference books may be borrowed by students of all classes on all working days. Application should be handed in between 9:00 am to 2:00 pm. The books will be issued at the end of the afternoon session.
    Reference books may be kept for a period not exceeding one week. They must be returned by 2:00 pm on due day. A fine of rupee one will be imposed for every additional day’s delay thereafter.
  6. If the library books ate not returned within 30 days a fine of rupee one per day will be charged for duration of 15 days. For further delay, the fine that is charged will be progressive.
  7. A student to whom a book has been issued is held responsible for it and for any damage done to it. He may not write anything or a make any mark therein. He is expected to examine the books he/she received and report immediately to the Library staff any damage found in it. Otherwise he/she shall be responsible for any damage that may be detected later.
  8. Students are not permitted to lend books to any one, weather in or out of the college, under pain of suspension of privileges.
  9. Students may borrow magazines and other reading materials at the Library Counter. They must return these at the counter before leaving the Library. No Magazines will be issued to a student who is in the Library when he should be in class.
  10. Strict discipline must be observed in the Library and Reading Room.
